New Video: 'Debka'!
Hey folks!
It’s me again :) and here’s video no. 3, ‘Debka’, from my new EP ‘Live Recordering, Vol. 1’.
This is a gorgeous piece by Shem Tov Levy, originally for a bigger ensemble, adapted for recorder and drums, played by my beautiful husband Angelo! One might say, this video is a cymbal or our love 🤔🥁♥️
To get the meditative effect in the beginning and the end, I sing into the recorder, and that creates a buzzing sound that either stays in one place while the recorder wanders around, or moves, creating another melody to accompany the recorder.
In the middle section, I took the rhythmic part from the original piece and let it go wild ☺️ every time we play this section it sounds different, as Angelo’s drum part is completely improvised.
